The Cavalry SVE is American Tactical's 20-gauge over-and-under, built on a 7075 aluminum receiver that is laser engraved and finished in silver. It carries 26-inch blued chrome-moly barrels with 3-inch chambers, a single selective trigger, ejectors that throw fired hulls clear, and a brass bead up front. Oil-finished Turkish walnut makes up the stock and forend. The gun weighs 6.2 pounds, is 42.25 inches long and has a 14.23-inch length of pull, and five interchangeable chokes are included.

The light alloy receiver is what keeps the weight down, and a 6.2-pound 20 gauge is a gun you can carry through a long upland day without noticing it. Twenty gauge is also within New Jersey's deer rules, and two barrels keep it inside the three-shell limit, so a hunter can take it into the Six-Day Firearm season or a Permit Shotgun zone with an open choke and buckshot or slugs.
