At 5.3 pounds, the Benelli Montefeltro Compact is a 20-gauge semi-automatic built for smaller shooters. The stock is cut to a 12.5-inch length of pull, the barrel is 24 inches with a 3-inch chamber, and overall length is 44.25 inches. Capacity is 4+1. The receiver and barrel wear a gloss blue finish over a walnut stock, with a bead front sight and a cross-bolt manual safety. Benelli's inertia system drives the action, and Crio chokes in improved cylinder, modified and full ship with a wrench.

This is the gun for a young hunter or a slighter adult who finds a full-size 12 gauge too much stock and too much weight. The short barrel swings quickly in thick upland cover. Twenty gauge sits inside New Jersey's 10-to-20-gauge rule for deer, so with the magazine plugged to three shells and a slug or buckshot load it can go out during the Six-Day Firearm season or a zone's Permit Shotgun dates.
