This Benelli Ethos pairs a brushed gray receiver with a gloss black BE.S.T. barrel, a surface treatment aimed at corrosion resistance. It is a 12-gauge inertia-driven semi-automatic with a 28-inch Advanced Impact barrel, 3-inch chamber and 4+1 capacity, weighing 6.9 pounds at 49.5 inches overall. Length of pull is 14 3/8 inches, the front sight is a bead, and the bolt handle and bolt release are enlarged for gloved hands. Five Crio AI chokes come with it: Cylinder, Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified and Full.

Benelli's Advanced Impact bore is meant to deliver denser, more even patterns with more pellet energy downrange, which is what an upland hunter wants from a 28-inch tube. The action handles light target loads through 3-inch magnums. In New Jersey the 12 gauge also qualifies for deer, provided the magazine is plugged to the three-shell limit and the gun is fed slugs or buckshot for the December Six-Day Firearm season.
