Rock Island Armory's VR60 is a magazine-fed 12 gauge semi-automatic with a 20-inch barrel and a 3-inch chamber that handles 2 3/4-inch and 3-inch shells. The detachable magazine gives a 5+1 load, overall length is 40 inches, length of pull is 14.25 inches, and the metal carries a blue/black finish over a synthetic stock. Ghost ring sights come standard, the top rail accepts an optic, and there is a manual safety.

Because it feeds from a detachable box rather than a tube, the VR60 reloads with a magazine change, which is why it is sold as a defensive, training and range shotgun rather than a field gun. New Jersey deer hunters are held to three shells in the gun, so in the Garden State this one belongs on the range or by the bedside. The ghost ring rear and the 20-inch barrel make it quick to point at close distance, and the rail lets you add an optic while keeping the irons.
