This Bulldog from American Tactical is the black and green version of its 12-gauge semi-automatic bullpup, fitted with ghost ring sights. The 18.5-inch barrel sits in a 28.5-inch gun that weighs 7.5 pounds, feeds 5+1 from a detachable magazine, and chambers 2.75-inch and 3-inch shells. The synthetic bullpup stock is fixed with a 14-inch length of pull, the safety is a crossbolt, and the top rail is ready for an optic.

Ghost rings are quick to line up and tough, and sit low enough that a red dot can be mounted above them on the rail. The rearward action is what gets a semi-automatic shotgun down to under 29 inches, a length that suits a house or a small room. Magazine feeding makes the reload a single motion. It is a defensive and range shotgun rather than a field gun.
