KelTec's KSG410 shrinks the dual-tube bullpup idea to .410 bore. It is a pump action with an 18.5-inch barrel, 3-inch chamber and a 26.1-inch overall length, weighing 5.4 pounds. Each of the two tube magazines holds five 3-inch shells. Fiber optic sights sit on a top Picatinny rail, the manual safety is ambidextrous, the stock is green, and the length of pull is 13 inches.

The .410 pays off in recoil: there is very little of it, which with the short length of pull and light weight makes this a shotgun a smaller or newer shooter can run comfortably. The pump action is simple to learn, and the bright fiber optic pipes are easy to find in poor light. New Jersey's deer shotgun rules cover 10 through 20 gauge, so the .410 belongs on the range and in training rather than in the December deer woods.
