The Escort Slugger is a 12-gauge pump with an 18-inch chrome-plated barrel, a 3-inch chamber and a fixed cylinder choke, so it will fire 2 3/4-inch and 3-inch shells and slugs alike. The receiver is aircraft alloy, the stock black synthetic with spacer shims to adjust fit and a rubber recoil pad, and the forearm is extended. Capacity is 5+1, the safety is a cross-button, sling studs are fitted, and overall length is 38 inches.

The name gives away the idea: a cylinder bore passes rifled slugs well, and New Jersey deer hunting is shotgun, muzzleloader and bow only. Plug the tube to three shells and this 18-inch gun becomes a short deer shotgun for thick cover during the Six-Day Firearm season or your zone's Permit Shotgun dates. The rest of the year it is a home shotgun, and the shims let you set the stock to your build.
