This Viper G2 is the synthetic-stocked .410: a 6.2-pound semi-automatic with a 28-inch vent-rib barrel, a 3-inch chamber and a 5+1 tube. Overall length is 48 inches and length of pull 14.25 inches. The finish is matte black, the sight is a plain bead, and there is a manual safety. There is no optic mount and no threaded muzzle.

Tristar aims this one at small game, upland hunting and field practice, and the matte synthetic furniture is for owners who would rather not worry about scratches on walnut. In New Jersey the .410 sits below the 10-to-20 gauge window for deer, so it is a small-game and clays gun here, not a December deer gun. The 28-inch barrel gives a long sighting plane for a .410, and at 6.2 pounds it is easy to carry through a morning of walking.
