Tristar's Viper G2 in .410 is a gas-operated semi-automatic with a 26-inch chrome-lined barrel, a 3-inch chamber and a tubular magazine that holds 5+1 with the shot plug out; the plug is included. It weighs 5.7 pounds and measures 46.5 inches overall. The vent rib carries a matted sight plane and a fiber optic front sight, the stock and forearm are cut-checkered Turkish walnut, and the crossbolt safety sits behind the trigger guard. Improved cylinder, modified and full chokes on Beretta Mobile threads come with a box and wrench.

A .410 is not a deer gun in New Jersey, where deer shotguns run 10 to 20 gauge, so the Viper G2 is for small game and clays. The shot plug limits the magazine where regulations call for it, and the manual cut-off lets you unload the chamber without feeding another shell from the tube. Gas operation keeps it soft shooting at 5.7 pounds, and the walnut looks the part on a sporting clays course.
