TriStar's Viper G2 Pro Sporting is a gas-operated 12 gauge semi-automatic with a 30-inch chrome-lined vent-rib barrel and a red fiber optic bead up front. It weighs 7.2 pounds, measures 50.25 inches, and feeds 5+1 from a 3-inch chamber. The stock and forearm are Soft Touch synthetic with a black rubber recoil pad, and the gas system is rated for everything from light target loads up to heavy waterfowl shells.

The package includes Improved Cylinder, Modified and Full chokes on the Mobil pattern, a wrench and a storage box, plus a shim kit for adjusting stock drop and cast so the gun mounts where your eye wants it. In New Jersey a 12 gauge falls inside the 10-to-20 gauge window the state sets for deer, though with a 30-inch sporting barrel this gun will spend most of its life at skeet and sporting clays courses, with the heavier-load capability in reserve for the marsh.
