Iver Johnson's PAS12 is a pump-action 12 gauge dressed in checkered walnut with a Blue/Black metal finish. The 30-inch barrel has a ventilated rib and a bead sight, the chamber accepts 3-inch shells, and the tubular magazine holds five. It weighs 7.5 pounds, measures 50 inches overall and has a 14.25-inch length of pull.

Long-barreled pumps like this are a plain answer for clay targets and general shotgun work, and the walnut gives it a look that most synthetic guns lack. For a New Jersey shooter the 12 gauge chambering is inside the deer window, but the five-round tube is more than the state's three-shell limit, so as sold it belongs on the trap or skeet field rather than in a December deer stand. The rib and bead keep the sight picture simple, and the pump action cycles any load the 3-inch chamber accepts.
