Traditions Firearms Spiller & Burr 36 Cal .36 Blued Black Powder Revolver

Traditions' Spiller & Burr is a replica of a Confederate-era revolver patterned on the Whitney design, built as a .36 caliber cap-and-ball single action. The octagonal barrel is blued and measures 6.5 inches, the frame and guard are brass, and the grip is walnut. It weighs 2.75 pounds, runs 12.5 inches overall, holds six shots and sights through a post on the top strap.

Traditions sells it for re-enactment and display, and that is how most owners will use it, though it loads and fires like any other percussion revolver. The brass frame and 6.5-inch barrel make it compact for the type. A New Jersey buyer applies for a Permit to Purchase a Handgun online through the NJSP system, at 21 or older, and then has 90 days plus an automatic 90-day renewal to complete the transfer; the dealer runs the State Police background check at pickup.
