This 1860 Army is a prototype from the Signature Series (third generation), made as a sample for Colt executives rather than for sale, and it carries the Coltec logo on the barrel. It is a consignment piece offered as new, complete with the box, the outer shipping carton, the accessory kit and a wooden presentation case. A letter from Anthony Imperato, president of Colt Blackpowder Arms, the firm that produced the Signature Series, explains what the revolver is and comes with it.
Nobody buys a prototype 1860 Army to shoot it; this is a cased collector's set, and the letter is what documents it. Our page lists it under handguns, so a New Jersey buyer should expect the full handgun process: a Permit to Purchase a Handgun through the NJSP online system and your local police department, one handgun per 30 days unless exempt, and a State Police background check at the dealer. Allow for that timeline when you order.
