A modern-production Charter Arms Bulldog in .44 Special, serial 10-10498, with a 2.5-inch barrel. It is a double-action-only revolver on a blued steel frame with a five-round cylinder and plastic carry-style grips. The bore is very good, the finish shows light handling marks, and overall condition is very good.

The Bulldog formula is a big-bore cartridge in a short, light package, and the double-action-only trigger with no exposed hammer spur to snag makes it a plain home-defense revolver that is easy to keep in a drawer or nightstand safe. Five rounds of .44 Special and a 2.5-inch barrel favor close distances. New Jersey buyers go through the Permit to Purchase a Handgun, which is filed online through the NJSP Firearms Application and Registration System and limited to one handgun per 30 days without an exemption; the dealer runs the State Police check before you take it.
