This Uberti 1862 Police is an Italian-made reproduction black powder revolver in .36 caliber, serial 136837, produced in 2010. It carries a 5.5-inch barrel and a five-shot fluted cylinder in a single-action-only frame. Finish is blue on the barrel and cylinder with color-case hardening on the frame and loading lever, and the grips are wood. The supplier grades the bore excellent and overall condition very good, noting light marks across the finish and grips.

It is a black powder gun and must be loaded only with black powder; the supplier states this plainly. New Jersey shooters who like cap-and-ball revolvers for range sessions or cowboy-style events will find the 1862 Police a slim, five-shot pattern that is easy to handle. The state treats each handgun transfer the same way, with its own Permit to Purchase valid for 90 days plus an automatic 90-day renewal, filed through the NJSP online system.
