Colt's Python with the 4.25-inch barrel is a six-shot double-action revolver in .357 Magnum, built in stainless steel with a semi-bright finish. It weighs 42 ounces and measures 9.75 inches overall. The muzzle has a recessed target crown, the barrel is rifled at a 1:14 left-hand twist, and the rear sight adjusts for windage and elevation above a reinforced top strap. The red-ramp front sight can be swapped for another profile, and the walnut grips carry the Colt medallion.

Between the revolver's weight, the adjustable sights and the mid-length barrel, this is a Python that works for serious range shooting and still fits a holster. In New Jersey, a handgun transfer starts with a Permit to Purchase a Handgun, filed online through the NJSP Firearms Application and Registration System to your local police. You must be 21, the permit runs 90 days with one automatic 90-day extension, and one handgun purchase is allowed per 30 days without an exemption.
