The Bergara B-14R Trainer is a .22 LR bolt-action rifle built to the size and feel of a centerfire precision rifle. It wears an 18-inch No. 6-taper barrel with a 1:16 twist and a 1/2x28 threaded muzzle under a thread protector, feeds from a 10-round detachable magazine for 10+1, and sits in Bergara's HMR stock with an adjustable cheek piece, adjustable length of pull, sling points and a full-length mini-chassis that free-floats the barrel. Weight is 9.2 pounds, overall length 38 inches, and the receiver takes Remington 700-pattern scope mounts. A manual safety is fitted.

New Jersey does not allow rimfire rifles for deer, so nobody is buying a B-14R for the December season; it is a training and competition rifle, built for NRL22 and PRS rimfire matches and for practicing positional shooting with economical ammunition. The adjustable stock lets a club or a family fit it to more than one shooter, the mini-chassis keeps the bedding consistent from match to match, and the included magazine holds 10 rounds.
